COMPETITION CARD RULES

Each angler must have his or her card marked by the senior angler on his or her right except the last Angler who goes to the nearest peg

At the end of the competition the senior angler marking the catch must sign the card and enter their peg number.

The competitor must also sign the card
WHEN THE MARKER IS SIGNING YOUR CARD AT THE END OF COMPETITION HE MUST DRAW A LINE UNDER LAST FISH RECORD NUMBER OF FISH AND SIGN HIS NAME ON THE SPACE UNDER YOUR LAST FISH.

IF THE ANGLER ON YOUR RIGHT FAILS TO CATCH A FISH YOU MUST DRAW A LINE THROUGH HIS CARD AND SIGN IT

Biro must be used when filling out the card, felt tip pen or pencil is not accepted.

On catching a fish the Angler may cast out again but cannot retrieve that trace until their catch is measured and recorded.(except in the case of silver eel which must be unhook declared to the angler marking your card and returned to the water before casting out)

The Angler recording the fish is responsible for the release of the fish.

Any fish being kept for culinary use must have it’s tail cut or marked by the Angler recording the card.

Dead fish must not be accepted for measurement.

A Third Angler resolves any disputed fish regarding the length of a fish.
(if fish is still disputed observer should be called and fish retained in bucket of water)

Fish measured must have its length recorded in centimetres and must be accompanied by the initials of the Angler measuring it.

In the event of a tie the greater number of fish will decide, in the event of a second tie the single longest fish will decide.
Objections in writing no later than 60 minutes after lines up time.



Munster Closed Shore Leg 2010

Competition Rules

• The Competition will be run on a conservation basis under the rules of the IFSA and the Munster Council.
• The method of conservation will be the Measurement system with 1 Point per Cm and 5 pts per fish.
• Anglers MUST return to the shore immediately after casting.
• Fish size limits will be as directed by the Munster council with a take home limit of 2 Bass over 430mm total per angler. No limit to the number of qualifying Bass recorded.
• Fish should be placed in water until they can be measured. All fish should be measured and released before the next cast is retrieved. (Silver eels must be unhooked declared to angler marking card and released before casting out)
• Anglers wishing to retain fish should have the head or tail cut by the angler signing the Record Card.
• An adjacent angler from a different club must measure fish and the same angler must sign the card.
• Fish must be measured on an IFSA measure and all anglers are responsible for providing their own.
• Dead fish should not be measured and signed for.
• Fish that are unsuitable to return to the water should NOT be left on the beach. After the angler signing the card has marked the fish, the same angler should keep the fish until the end of the competition when it can be disposed of.
• No excuses will be accepted for unsigned cards and cards will not be returned once handed in to the committee.
• All fish should be measured to the lowest whole Centimetre, e.g. 35.9 Cms. should read 35 Cms.
• No fish can be marked up to qualify.
• Incorrect recording of fish sizes will result in disqualification.
• Objections must be made in writing to the committee within 60mins. of the end of the competition.
• ALL cards must be signed by the angler as well as the adjacent angler and under the last fish draw a line and write the fish quantity and marker sign under line and card returned to the committee by pm. Anglers leaving early must give their card to an adjacent angler.

Fish Sizes
All species 20 Cms - except the following:
Silver Eel unhooked and return to water after being declared to the angler signing card= 35 Pts + 5 Fish pts
Conger Eel < 100 cms = 35 Pts + 5 fish pts
Conger Eel over 100 cms = 115 Pts + 5 fish pts
Ray (Wingspan) 20 cms = 1 Pt per cm + 5 Fish Pts
Dogfish 20 cms = 40 Pts.
Measure & Record the first 2 Dogfish- Record all others as Dogfish.
There is no limit to the number of Bass you can record, but by law you can only keep 2 Bass in any 24 hrs.
