sharking 18/9/09

myself ,paul and gerry headed out before first light .arived out around 14 miles just as it was starting to get bright got the rubby out and the pigs blood.didnt have fresh mackerel and they were slow to come until the sun came up and there was a lot of joeys.started very well after only twenty mins paul got a good run and hook up only for the shark to bite trough 200lb wire trace after a few mins(its a great white by this time of night Laughing ) ,then a few mins later paul had another run but it was dropped things went quite then for a while gerry got a funny take witch was a big garfish on an 8/0 and a whole joey Shocked .didnt get another run for about an hour when gerry got a dropped run that was it for the sharking but had great fun on really light gear wiyh plenty of good garfish ,paul had two that must be speciems , and we had loads of whiten a dog and a grey gurnard.headed in for 1 pm good day all in all pitty we didnt land any blues.pual has pics will post later

Didn't have that great white feel to it Barry... Id say it was a killer whale
Very Happy Razz
Couldn't believe the power of it on that first dive... cant wait to get back there

Had some great sport on very light gear with the garfish
almost made up for loosing that first one ..
