DAY2: grey gurnard ,pout,ballan wresse,mackerel,pollock.
REPORT:well dont know what to say ,lovely spot to fish great slips too, lads were grand too, there first time running a competion and hope they learnet a lot and make it better next year.there was contraversy from day one but all in all day one went good we had super day in fishing but the size limits well to big we had alot of species but only six species each counted rest were to small.highlight of the day was a mergrim by paul.it was good with the two of us head to head till the very end with paul finishing ahead.put him in 3rd over all and me down in 5th.
DAY2 with weather after picking up and it raining we headed out it was very rough just about fishable but very uncomfertable.with about an hour into the competition and a few fish but paul with only counter we had herd that one of the charters would not fish as it was too rough and we herd the small boats was over that and a small craft warning we made our way in to find it was not cancled.we packed up soon after as the only SMALL boat left was a private owned charter boat.
the best thing about the day was the one fish paul had in kept him in 3rd place
witch was good going when we went by all the rules and we hear of alot of lads say they were getting 4 and 5 pollock a dip and we only left have 3 hooks??? inlander was there too long story there too
he had great 1st day too.

Re: youghal boat competition 27th-28th june
Big thanks to Barry for the spot on the boat..
The first day was prob the best days boat fishing i ever had but the card did not reflect the fish we got...
The sizes could have come down for most species.....
what can i say about day 2.. lol
I now know how my smock feels in the washing machine... lol..
All in all i really enjoyed it and being in the prizes for a change helped....
A big thanks to Barry for hanging around after a long day... I know you were itching to get home...
Cant wait to get back to this place in better weather
