LURES TO USE IN THE WATERFORD AREA TOP 5

Hi Guys,,
Its alright going lure fishing ,,,but if you dont know what to put on the end of your line its a non starter so heres my personal top 5,,,,,
at 1,, the very famous maria chase SW holographic shallow
at 2,,the storm jointed thunderstick,, spotted trout shallow
at 3,,the storm chug bug a old lure but still performs against the best surface popper
at 4,,the maria angel kiss blue large a little bit deeper diver a summer lure
at 5,, the viper a double jointed plug a deepish diver from america,,this lure has accounted for my top 3 biggest bass on lures,great to use towards the back end of the year
this list is just my personal preferences but there are loads more to talk about and discuss in detail

All good lures but the number 1 in my book is a sand eel.
Fished free lined or weighted, Live or dead, cant beat the sand eel.

i do agree that on its day a live sandeel is unbeatable,,so is peeler crab and so is black lug,,
in my book fishing a live bait is not lure fishing

Agreed, if free lined a live sand eel or ledgering but I was referring to SPINNING sand eel as you would any other lure.
Put any guy fishing any lures IE: plugs, spinners, spoons etc etc and next to him put a guy fishing the same set up. Same ground and replace the plastic with a dead sand eel fished as you would with the lures and I know who my money would be on.
I'm sure people would have mixed opinions on whether it could be called a lure or not but IMO it is.
I have been very successful with this method on days that you could not buy a bite any other way.

hi guys,, lure fishing is specific,,and its everybody to their own,,,i disagree ,,,you try spinning a sandeel in december in the kelp it dont work,,a lure the shape of a goby or a wrasse will pull the bass,,,in the rock and kelp areas
