SHORE ANGLING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - SENIORS
MASSA CARRARA

PERIOD OF THE EVENT

From Sunday 28 August 2011 (arrival of National Federations)
To Sunday 4 September 2011 (departure of National Federations).

COMPETITION VENUE

The competition will take place on the costs of Marina di Carrara - Marina di Massa - Viareggio - Tirrenia (Lucca - Massa Carrara - Pisa).

The most present fish species are: European sea-bass, sands steenbras, giltheads seabream, pompanos (trachinotus ovatus) and horse mackerels.

Sandy seabed.

The competition will be carried out with “live” fishes only. According to the Italian law, some exceptions to the ordinary limitations concerning fishing sizes and species are allowed.
MINIMAL SIZE FOR EVERY FISH SPECIES IS OF 12 CM, WHICH IS THE SAME AS STATED ON THE FIPS-MER INTERNATIONAL RULES.

SPECIFIC RULES FOR RANKING LISTS
Catches, handled with the extreme care, must be immediately communicated to the competition Steward. The steward shall measure the fish and report the assigned points on the competition card: 1 cm = 1 point for ALL FISH SPECIES, except for eel-like species (i.e. European congers, European eels, Mediterranean moray, echelus myrus, etc.,), which will be given a halved score: 1 cm = ½ point. Rays and sharks are not valid. Catches shall be delivered to the steward, who will preserve them still alive in suitable boxes. At the end of the leg, catches will be released still alive into the sea.
