Any Fish Going

Post by Conor on Sun Aug 07, 2011 10:43 pm

Well,

Just wondering if any one can help me out, I have fished the front beach in Tramore twice, Saleens twice, Bunmahon and the sewer pipe Passage East over the last month and other than a few small flounder and eels have had no luck.

Have been fishing during the day, evening and up to 1.30pm at night, using fresh and frozen peeler, rags, black wraps and mackrel but am not getting any bass, huss or hounds or any thing any way decent.

Any suggestions where else I might fish or what I am doing wrong???

Thanks

Conor

Tramore can be a tough beach to produce results on. I've only ever got 3 bass off it myself and never even seen a huss or hound being pulled in their, but it is possible. The sewer pipe at passage east is good for dabs and flounder at the moment and cod in the winter but chances of bass, hounds and the like are very slim. If you moved onto the mudflat down river on the rise of the tide you might stand a better chance.

I don't fish bunmahon but I'm sure good bass can be got there if you put in the time

didnt hear much from any one of late but this time of the year can be hit and miss on most beaches on the south coast.the east coast is worth a try and best bet for hounds.tramore can be patchy.
locally tho there should be good fishing from the rocks with plenty of poolock and wrasse and dogs ,conger and maybe huss.
going to head to dunmore to try for mullet this evening myself.
