British Shore Tope Record Broken over 66lb

British Shore Tope Record Broken

Kevin Legge fished a rock mark near Ilfracombe with Derrek Ferret and Wayne Thomas, contributor to WSF and hooked into a huge tope that was eventually brought ashore after a tense struggle. The tope was weighed and witnessed before being carefully returned alive.

In a strange stroke of coincidence Kevin already holds the British Shore Caught tope record with a fish of 66lb caught on November 6th, 2006. The new potential record was caught at fifteen minutes past midnight on November 6th 2010.

The fish was taken using Sakuma 8/0 hooks and fresh flounder fillet.
