10th may 2011 on hols
had charter booked for tue out on hols, weather was good and the fishing the day before was good in same area.fish turned out to be slow with frozen herring baits soft and been stripped fast.i did manage a big ocutpus on the first drop and another chap a mackerel witch he used as bait and soon into a good sting ray he couldnt move after first run tho and lost after a few mins.i set up a 2nd rod as things were slow with light feathers and small baits and started hitting a few fish had 4 puffer fish first few drops then up the baits and started hitting a few jacks of some kind .then we moved and it went quite again with only one jack there.not much else been caught an english lad and a scotish lad had a few mackerel is all.last half hour and left rod down to get fresh bait and got serious bit and when lifted in to it just took line not a lot i could do on light rod and light trace finally went around some thing and i lost it.(after i had big rod out for 6 hours with 80-100lb line straight through he wouldnt take that).one of the scotish lads had a fine big turtle as well witch was left off.
